Heritage

The Portuguese Association of the Castle’s Friends defends sustainable development policies to our historic fortified monuments. We are working to seek and find the identity features of each monument, what makes it unique, a task that is in permanent change. For that to happen we rely on the help of several researchers as well as territory managers and planners.

Events Programme

We aim to promote Portugal’s spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood. No one protects what is unknown. We have an intensive program centered in scientific visits not only in Portuguese territory but abroad as well.

Educational

We assume a commitment with cultural education using our heritage. Our goal is to help teachers, and everyone involved with educational policies and practices, how to use our cultural heritage as an educational resource.

Therefore we develop educational projects, that comply with this need, as well as theme children birthday parties, that take place in historical sites (Forte de São Bruno).
